Topspin Media- Unveiled!
From the examples that the Topspin Media blog displays, one can assume that these technology product that they’re working on involves an artist-specific subscription model that includes both physical and digital product. Interesting.
While it’s yet to be seen what other products they are working on, I do like that so far, they’re taking each artist and making a specific package for their fans, with several options. I like that.
What I’m not so sure about, is the idea of an artist subscription. I suppose that the main target is casual to hardcore fans of any particular band but should this catch on, would you want to visit each artist’s website to purchase their music? I don’t think the iTunes of the world are going anywhere as far as convenience of having basically everything you want in one location but it is nice to see Ian Rogers put his belief of the importance of context to musical purchases. Because if someone is actually ON an artists website, they already want more. So why not offer them posters, vinyl and downloads?
