When I see a blog or site that uses the word exclusive a lot, as in “exclusive interview” or “exclusive remix,” I’m more than a little annoyed. Yes, you got the content first, that’s worth something I suppose. But herein lies my irritation, the whole idea is akin to that asshole on Perez Hilton who feels the need to leave “FIRST!!!!!!!” on every post (despite being the fifteenth person to write the same damn thing).
If you’re posting an “exclusive” track from a well known band, I say ‘So What!’ Please take my time, as a reader, and do something more worthwhile. Like find someone new to talk about or thinking up some interesting way to find out what makes your favorite musicians tick. Take a risk! Go into uncharted territory! But please, don’t just get permission from some publicist to be the first to share something with the internet is not getting you any respect, at least from me.
“Brainwashed hosts websites for many bands, artists, and record labels.”
There’s gotta be more people doing this…
Would I love to have a Rosette Fascinator Headband? Yes. Yes I most certainly would. Lovely and retro.

Cynical, but the dude has a point. And I happen to agree with him.

Muxtape 2.0, bitches! Justin speaks:
“With Muxtape, we found that a lot of people were using it to host music for their own bands, their own projects. If you want something that’s clean, that’s high-quality music, if you care about people hearing your music correctly and seeing it without advertisements and in a cleaner, better context, it’s a service to bands to do that.”
Using search to find things online is a way of life for me. I generally get what I’m looking for, a wikipedia article, a video link but sometimes, 1 out of 1,000 searches, I find something else. Something BETTER than what I was looking for. This time? I was searching for “angry music.” I should’ve known that Yahoo! Answers would prodive a nice little view into what aural travistries most of America recommends to others classified as “angry music.”
Music like:
Other selected comments and recommendations include:
“Whitney Houston from Just Whitney. (A mandatory when you get soooo angry ;) )”
“I would not listen to skipknot or bands like that cuz all their stuff is gross and angry. Too typical. these are angry….and skillful”
