OY. I love music but sometimes the deception within the music industry makes me unbelievable queasy. Pet peeve #9812- refering to music as having an ‘indie’ sound.

“It’s monitoring the public feed of thoughts people post to their twitter account, searching for occurences of “I love”, “I hate”, “I think”, “I feel”, “I wish”, etc.”
And yes, of course I found it from Mr. Derek Silver.
Mezmerizing. I’m amazed at the immediate insinutations particular words have. Like how much more negative I Wish sounds in mass than I Love or I Believe.

These lists always leave some proper people, places and things out but instead of viewing them as the end-all be-all list, I like to skim for things I haven’t seen before. Check out what Rolling Stone’s opinions are.

One of my work buddies is in the band Sholi. He did a great interview with the folks at Pars Arts and really gets into the meat and potatoes of Iranian music and culture and the effects it’s had on him and in turn, Sholi’s music.
Here’s a link to the track in quesiton- Hejrat by Sholi. If you like it you should check them out and buy the record.

“The one music title that’s growing, Spin, has been doing well with fashion and telecommunications, says Publisher Malcolm Campbell. He adds that the magazine is now profitable—a big change since its sale to The McEvoy Group two years ago.”

“The fact that Amazon’s early growth does not appear to be at the expense of Apple iTunes is a healthy indication that the digital music customer pool can expand into new consumer groups who have not yet joined the iTunes community,” said Russ Crupnick, entertainment industry analyst for NPD.”

Question of the Day:
When a small-ish independent band is looking to promote themselves across a variety of social networks or has hired someone else to promote themselves across a variety of social networks, and seemingly all feature opportunities require 1) exclusive content 2) direct band involvement or 3) a major-label artist-like gigantic fanbase, what does that indie band do?
a) obviously offer exclusives to...

This is where the magic happened. Some guy made the offhand comment “ohh would your boyfriend be mad?” after I hesitated in my response about giving him my number. I said “Um, I’m not sure” and then later told Cameron about what happened and my awkward, unsure reply. We’ve been together officially ever since.

soxiam: at lunch pile and joliver lectured us about quantum mechanics and existentialism. it didn’t really go all that well with my chicken fajita. but i did end up questioning this: “if i don’t interact with this fajita, does it really exist?” A better question:
