– Always Marry An April Girl by Ogden Nash
The poem from this picture. Self-indulgent yes, but it’s a beautiful poem. I have a feeling me and this Ogden Nash fellow would’ve gotten along.

Need a Home Pt 2
For anyone following me for awhile, you already know I’m looking for a new place to live in the city. Well the housemates have a ‘we’d like you leave by’ date of May 1. They think its reasonable but then again, they haven’t been looking ;) Here goes one more time:
I am looking for new digs. Anyone that has tried to find a room on Craigslist in San Francisco knows...

Who is this Xena character? Warrior Princess?? Surely I do no know her. And I just happened upon this amazingly melancholy Muxtape playlist. Whoever made this is truely brillant!

Rick returns to the hits - Rock and pop - Music -... →
I’m not alone when I say that people have been talking and wondering what the man behind the Rick Roll song, Rick Astley, is about. This is a fun article that sums him up nowadays. Homeboy has had a LOT of hits besides his most notorious one, no doubt.

Not surprising! I prefer to use Wikipedia because sometimes I know their music already, I’m looking for fun-facts.

gtmcknight:
Exactly what was needed, a steady flow of new muxtapes coming into my dashboard. I think this is the Tumblr killer music app.
There is also a wiki where people are sharing links. Interesting that when a certain needed functionality isn’t built into an awesome product, people will find community workarounds.

– Lefsetz Letter » Blog Archive » Everybody Knows
Bob Lefsetz rants a lot and while I disagree with the quality level of music out there today (there ARE musicians and bands with potential to be as good as The Beatles, so shoot me for saying it). I so appreciate his honesty and his...

This store is incredible! They sell jewelery made out of old vinyl records and have really great sillouettes. I love the spindel necklace, the best friends heart, the neon lightening bold earrings, and the Shamrock necklace... or the skull necklace.

A great article from Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein about the fanaticism of music fans. I get a kick out of the discussion in the comments about particular insane-devoted band fans. I’d say U2 fans are pretty crazy-intense.

São Paulo: The City That Said No To Advertising →
This DOES sound like something right out of adbusters. An interesting experiment. While I agree with no billboards, I disagree to some extent about store signage. I’d like to see the city in a year because I’m willing to be it’ll be beautiful. I also wonder what the stance on murals is because how awesome would it be to have art replace advertisements? Pretty amazing.

How do they sleep at night?
” I feel anal-retentive and self-loathing saying that I want to like Dengue Fever, but it’s true: I appreciate that they’re making indie rock music informed by a foreign stylistic context, I appreciate the mix of non-Western music with Western, and I love Chhom’s voice. But there are better “foreign” bands, and musicians making more interesting mixes at the...
